About Us

Decon5 was established to provide specialised explosive residue decontamination services to the mining and resources sector, supporting the growing demand for safer and more efficient equipment maintenance practices within explosive-sensitive environments.

Founder Darryl Quertier has been actively supporting the mining and explosive industry for more than 20 years through Mechanical Resources Australia, based in Malaga, Western Australia. Over this time, he has built extensive industry experience delivering remote Mobile Processing Unit (MPU) servicing, equipment rebuilds, maintenance support, and specialised equipment supply to mining operations across Australia.

Through years of working closely with mine operators, explosive providers, and maintenance contractors, the need for a dedicated decontamination service became increasingly evident — particularly in reducing the risks associated with explosive residue contamination prior to workshop servicing, repairs, and transport.

Decon5 was created as a specialised extension of this long-standing industry support network, providing technically focused decontamination solutions that help improve safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across mining and explosive-handling environments.

Today, Decon5 continues to support the mining and explosive industry with mobile onsite services designed to minimise risk, reduce downtime, and ensure equipment can be safely prepared for maintenance and workshop entry.
